Employers must, under the Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, conduct regular risk assessments and provide training for their employees who spend perhaps as little as 2 hours a day using a VDU or display screen equipment – even if they employ less than 5 people!
Would You:
- use a clipboard and questionnaire /assessment form, visiting every employee’s workstation - very expensive.
- or use a ‘Word’ or ‘Excel’ form via your IT system, and pay somebody to spend a lot of expensive time reading ALL the answers. But you really only want to see the non-compliant answers, to correct the problem. Typically these surveys cost up to £50 per person
- or put it all off until ‘later’ – not a good idea!
Or would you benefit from using ADVISA which:
- lets users to conduct a self assessment via the IT system – c15 minutes
- filters the answers to isolate the OK compliant answers and
- present you with what you really need, just the noncompliant responses
- to enable you to resolve the easy ones in house, and then
- decide where you may need external expertise for the few
ADVISA can reduce the cost of conducting these risk assessments to as little as one fifth of the traditional approach, or even less.
You may employ in-house specialists, or use external consultants. Either way, their costly skills are better employed resolving actual problems, rather than reading non-problem issues.
